Accreditation

The Master in Finance is accredited by the Zentrale Evaluations- und Akkreditierungsagentur Hannover (ZEvA).

The program is taught by Goethe University’s outstanding faculty as well as top professors from other leading institutions and prominent practitioners from major corporations.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Admissions Process in Three Steps

Would you like to apply? Then send your complete application documents by post or via the Online Application Portal to the GBS Office of Admissions.

Only applicants whose complete application documents have been received by the GBS Office of Admissions before the application deadline will be considered for the admissions process.

Get in touch with our Office of Admissions well in advance and before submitting your documents to clarify possible questions in good time!

Step 1: Collection

A complete application package includes the following documents:

➛ Completed application form (only for postal delivery)

➛ Current curriculum vitae

➛ Letter of recommendation (from employer)

➛ Evidence of a minimum of one year post-graduate work experience in an applicable finance-related field (e.g. employment certificate, job description of the employer or employment contract)

➛ Letter of motivation (in English)

➛ Proof of English-language proficiency at (CEFR) C1 level (at least 95 TOEFL-iBT points, at least 7.0 IELTS)

➛ Proof of quantitative skills

➛ University transcripts and diploma – only notarized copies will be accepted

Applying from outside the EU?

If you are an applicant coming from a country outside the European Union, please note that you will need to apply for a student visa to study in Germany.

The German authorities will however not issue a student visa for part-time programs in Germany.

Therefore, if you are able to relocate to Germany on a different type of visa other than a student visa, then it should be possible to study.

If you wish to obtain a student visa, you will have to look into full-time programs in Germany. A good starting point may be the following website of the German Academic Exchange Service: www.daad.de/en.

Qualifications

➛ First university degree – at least a Bachelor’s degree (180 CP) or equivalent

➛ Minimum of one-year post-graduate work experience in an applicable finance-related field

➛ Good to very good quantitative skills

➛ Very good oral and written English skills
